Imports to Australia
Equine International Airfreight can provide a twelve-month all risk of mortality and theft cover to include the transit to Australia. Transit cover from between 15 to 90 days can also be arranged. Cover is subject to the underwriter’s acceptance of a current veterinary certificate of health and acceptance of a completed proposal with regard to your past three year claim history.
A pre purchase veterinary examination that has been completed within 14 days of inception of the cover may suffice. A completed declaration of health for the horse may be required to supplement the pre-purchase report.
If a pre purchase veterinary report is unavailable we recommend you request your vendor to arrange a current veterinary certificate of health now with the property veterinarian to ensure the horse is fully covered immediately. Otherwise, Equine International Airfreight can arrange the veterinary certificate of health when the horse is in our pre export quarantine stables.
The above cover can be extended to include emergency surgery clauses for a small additional premium. We also provide stallion infertility cover.
We’ll be pleased to provide you with an obligation-free quote on request. We’ll need to know the sum insured required, period required —12 months or 60 days etc—the use of the horse and your home state—eg NSW or VIC.
Exports from Australia
Equine International Airfreight can arrange mortality insurance from time of purchase through to clearance at the horses destination port including transit cover. The underwriters acceptance of this cover is subject to the receipt of a suitable veterinary certificate of health.
In some instances, we may be able to seek a 12 month policy, however this largely depends on the country of destination and approval from the underwriters.
